Your Guide to Staying at Coastal Glamping at Tregantle Farm

Glamping tents with canvas tops and wooden frames, set in a grassy field on a sunny day.

If you’re dreaming of sea air, slower mornings and evenings around a fire pit, you’ll probably feel very at home here.

Tregantle Farm is a small, eco-friendly glampsite tucked away in South East Cornwall, just minutes from Whitsand Bay. It’s peaceful, simple and a bit off the beaten track — which is exactly why our guests love it.

  • No crowded holiday parks.
  • No noisy entertainment blocks.
  • Just three unique places to stay, big skies, coastal walks and space to properly switch off.
  • It’s the kind of holiday where sandy feet, salty hair and early nights just happen naturally.

A small site (on purpose)

  • We’ve kept the site small intentionally.
  • With only three accommodations, everything feels calmer and more personal. Children can play safely, dogs can settle quickly, and you’re never queuing for facilities or sharing space with lots of strangers.
  • Many of our guests say the same thing when they arrive:
  • “Wow, it’s so peaceful.”
  • And that’s exactly how we want it to feel.

Stay your way – safari tents or a cosy cabin

We have two fully furnished safari tents and one wooden cabin, each with proper beds, electricity and their own private facilities.

So you still get the outdoorsy, back-to-nature experience — just without the uncomfortable bits.

The safari tents – Rame & Cornish Vibes

Perfect for families or friends, with plenty of space and your own private shower and compost toilet nearby. No late-night walks across a field needed.

The cabin – Ebb & Flow

A little more tucked away and private, which makes it especially popular with couples or solo guests wanting a quieter escape.

Warm, simple and cosy in every season.

Dogs are very welcome here

We know holidays are better when the dog comes too.

That’s why we welcome up to two dogs per accommodation, free of charge.

There are coastal walks straight from the gate, dog-friendly beaches nearby and plenty of space to relax back at the site afterwards. Muddy paws are part of the fun.

Proper switch-off time (but good 4G if you need it)

Lots of guests come here for a bit of a digital detox.

Evenings tend to look like this:

  • cooking outside
  • chatting around the fire pit
  • watching the stars
  • early nights after long beach days

But if you do need to check emails or stream something, we have good 4G signal across the site too.

So you can disconnect as much (or as little) as you like.

Beaches and walks right on the doorstep

One of the best things about staying here is how close you are to the coast.

Whitsand Bay stretches for miles and is brilliant for long walks and big sunsets. Then there are the smaller, sheltered beaches like Cawsand, Kingsand and Portwrinkle which are lovely for families and paddling.

We’re always happy to suggest the best spots, including beaches with seasonal lifeguards if that’s important to you.

And if you’re walking the South West Coast Path, you can join it straight from nearby.

Great for families

School holiday stays here are usually pretty simple and relaxed.

Kids love the freedom of being outdoors all day, toasting marshmallows in the evening and sleeping somewhere that feels a bit different and adventurous.

Parents love not having to overpack, not battling crowds and having everything easy and close by.

It’s proper old-fashioned holiday fun — just with comfy beds and hot showers.

Perfect for couples too (especially outside summer)

Outside of peak summer, the farm becomes incredibly peaceful.

Empty beaches, crisp coastal walks and quiet evenings make it ideal for couples wanting a short break away from busy life.

Late Spring and early autumn are particularly lovely here.

If you’re after calm rather than crowds, these months are hard to beat.

Walking the coast?

We often welcome South West Coast Path walkers during the week and offer one-night stays Monday to Thursday.

A hot shower, a comfortable bed and a quiet night’s sleep can feel pretty luxurious after a long day on the trail.

How long should you stay?

Weekend breaks are nice, but most guests tell us they wish they’d stayed longer.

Four nights seems to be the sweet spot — enough time to properly unwind, explore the beaches and not feel rushed.

Midweek stays (Monday–Friday) are especially relaxed.

Plenty to explore nearby

If you fancy heading out for the day, there’s lots within easy reach.

The Eden Project, Dartmoor, Adrenaline Quarry, Plymouth Aquarium, golf courses and several National Trust houses are all close enough for day trips.

Or you can simply stay put with a book and another cup of coffee. That’s absolutely fine too.

What to Pack for a Cornwall Glamping Holiday (Eco-Friendly & Stress-Free Guide) Planning a glamping holiday in Cornwall should feel exciting — not overwhelming. At Tregantle Farm Eco Glampsite, we’ve designed each stay to be as simple and relaxed as possible, so you can pack light and settle in quickly. Whether you’re visiting as a couple, family, or group, this guide will help you feel fully prepared without bringing more than you need. What We Provide (So You Can Pack Less) One of the most common questions we’re asked is what’s included — and the answer is: quite a lot. Each accommodation comes with a well-equipped kitchen, including pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and wine glasses — everything you need for simple, relaxed meals. You’ll also find: Tea, coffee, and sugar (cafetiere provided) Cooking oil, plus a small selection of herbs and spices Kitchen essentials such as condiments and kitchen roll A complimentary first-morning breakfast hamper For comfort and ease, we also provide: Bed linen and cosy blankets Solar and rechargeable lighting, lanterns, and a torch for nighttime trips Dog-friendly touches including treats, a water bowl, and emergency poo bags Our aim is simple: to help you arrive, unwind, and feel at home straight away. What to Pack for Your Stay Clothing (Think Layers) Cornwall’s weather can change quickly — even in summer — so layers are key. We recommend: Comfortable daytime outfits Warm jumpers or hoodies for evenings A waterproof jacket for coastal walks Footwear (Very Important) A mix of practical and comfortable footwear will make all the difference. Bring: Wellies or walking boots for coastal paths and wetter days Sliders or flip-flops for short nighttime walks to the loo Soft slippers to keep things cosy indoors Towels & Beach Essentials Please bring: Bath towels Beach towels If you’re travelling light (particularly from overseas), we offer a towel bale hire option — available to pre-order via our website extras. Practical Extras A few small items can make your stay even more comfortable: A charging pack/power bank for your devices A reusable water bottle A picnic blanket for beach days Food & Drink Tips We recommend keeping things simple when it comes to food. Bring your preferred milk (although we usually have cow’s milk or oat milk available for emergencies) Avoid bringing too much fridge food — space is limited as there is currently a shared undercounter fridge Plan easy, relaxed meals rather than anything too complicated Simple food, enjoyed slowly outdoors, is often part of the experience. BBQs & Outdoor Cooking For safety and to protect the land, disposable BBQs aren’t permitted on site. BBQs are available to hire, and we also offer charcoal and eco-friendly heat briquettes to make outdoor cooking simple and enjoyable during your stay. What You Don’t Need to Bring To save space (and stress), there are a few things you can leave at home: Kitchen equipment — everything you need is provided. Excess food or bulky items A Gentle Note on Eco Living Tregantle Farm is an eco-conscious glampsite, and we encourage guests to embrace simple, low-impact living during their stay. Please rinse and sort recycling carefully Use compost bins provided for food waste Help us keep the space clean and wildlife-friendly These small actions make a big difference in preserving this special corner of Cornwall. Final Thoughts Glamping is about slowing down, reconnecting, and enjoying life’s simpler pleasures. With a little thoughtful packing, you’ll have everything you need — and nothing you don’t. Pack light, arrive relaxed, and let Cornwall do the rest. Ready to plan your stay? Book your Cornwall glamping escape at Tregantle Farm Eco Glampsite.
